Architecture in Morocco Today

The Moroccan Grand Prix for Architecture 1998

 01 June 1999 - 01 September 1999

The creation of a Grand Prix for Architecture is a first for Morocco. It aims at promoting the architectural profession, achieving a new definition of market demands and paying tribute to the figures who have worked towards innovation.

A biennial event, the Moroccan Grand Prix for Architecture is awarded by an international jury. The principle is to distinguish multi-disciplinary teams that group all the players of a collective project: architects, real estate developers and design offices. In doing so the sponsors hope to open a tribune that will stimulate professional debate and lead to the emergence of a Moroccan school of contemporary architecture. It will be a show-case and a launching pad for local savoir-faire... and will also encourage vocations.
