What are the ambitions of the architects of tomorrow for the Parisian metropolis? What imagination do they develop for Big Paris? By gathering thirty-six prospective and stimulating projects at the end of studies, Immediate future paints a portrait of a multifaceted generation.
To all extent, these young architects make a commitment on territories where the architecture often has no grip. Around the highway A86, on a parking lot of supermarket, in the suburban zones, in the historic districts, every proposal takes the territorial complex realities as immediate opportunities. To repair a big set, to urbanize a housing estate by suggesting a collective swimming pool, to invest a " hollow Parisian tooth " in climatic fitness gym, to fit a zoo in the Seine, to reconvert a former industrial site in data-center or to dig a pit of scuba diving in Defense slab. These architects also question the big metropolitan chanllenges in an uninhibited movement. At the front of the Seine, in Bobigny, in Clichy-Sous-Bois, in new towns, the intrinsic qualities of these spaces of the modernity are revealed, their problems adapted by impulses in grip with the current events, to invent other next days.
