Maison des Jours Meilleurs

 January 30 through April 11, 2027

To mark the 70th anniversary of the prototype, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal is presenting, as part of the “Jours Meilleurs” exhibition, a “Maison des Jours Meilleurs”—a historic emergency shelter designed by architect Jean Prouvé in 1956. Its renovation and restoration are supported by the “Un toit pour des jours meilleurs” Endowment Fund in partnership with SNL (Solidarités Nouvelles pour le Logement).

“Habiter le monde” Biennial
“Jours meilleurs” Exhibition

The first edition of the “Habiter le monde” Biennial, the group exhibition “Jours meilleurs” lies at the intersection of art and architecture. Through narratives and forms, it explores the practices, challenges, and imaginaries that shape our relationships with places, others, and our environments, while opening up perspectives for collective invention.

This exhibition brings together artists and architects around a shared question: How can we live, coexist, repair, and transform in an era of social, ecological, and democratic crises? From the hut to the imagined city, from urgency to utopia, creations, models, works never before seen in France, reactivated installations, and iconic architectural structures compose a sensitive cartography of our ways of being in the world.

Several themes explore major contemporary issues: property, solidarity, adaptability, life, and memory—of bodies or territories. Complementing this thematic perspective is a constant interplay of scales between the intimate and the collective, the body and space, and the local and the global. A true “city within a city,” CENTQUATRE-PARIS transforms into a full-scale experimental space. Its spaces thus offer a constellation of worlds to explore and discover.
