For the first time, Pavillon de l'Arsenal commit altogether the spaces of exposition of contemporary art. 56 french and international artists, renowned or emerging, question and interrogate, through one of their works, l'architecture; their problems and challenges.
Installations, videos, sculptures, sound devices, drawings, photos, paints …, these rooms, exceptional loans of private collectors, artists, or galleries form for the first time a gathered unique panorama. This archipelago of works, crossed in the filter of the architectural problems, explores the physical and virtual flows, redefines the urban times and the public uses, questions the temporality and the globalization, the place of the nature and the collaborative economy, or deceives the space and the measure to rethink the architecture, not only in its physical substance, but also as social organization.
This new urban landscape also translates the place of the city, the urban and the constructions in the practical and abstract searches for the current artists. The bilingual work designed by Didier Gourvennec Ogor and Gregory Lang, invited commissioners of the exhibition shows of it, who gathers more than 260 works, result of a research work on the ground, discoveries experimented in the course of visits of exhibitions, fairs, collections and artist studios.
Artists and Architecture, variable Dimensions bases itself on the conviction which the artists light and reveal potential susceptible to enrich and to transform our ambitions shared to build together the city world of tomorrow.
