Launch of seven consultations for the construction of 380 low-carbon housing units

"Paris & Métropole Aménagement (P&Ma), the City of Paris and the social landlords in charge of the project are organising six consultations for project managers as well as a consultation of developers and architects in the Chapelle Charbon ZAC in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. They concern the creation of 380 housing units and a school complex.

The situation of this complex, which completes the Evangile district, is remarkable, since the new buildings are built against the gables of the existing buildings and will become the new "backdrop" of the Chapelle Charbon park; their first floors, dedicated to a variety of activities and uses, will contribute to the animation of the public space.

This context leads to strong expectations in terms of the relationship with the park (openings, views, inner city), dialogue with the inhabitants and urban aesthetics. Concerted design workshops between the seven project management teams that will be selected will make it possible to reconcile coherence and diversity in the urban and architectural treatment of this new façade.

The buildings will aim for the highest levels of the BBCA label. To achieve this, the project managers will have at their disposal a very thorough study carried out by the team of architects and engineers assembled by the h2o agency, with the assistance of Franck Boutté Consultants. Based on an in-depth examination of the available solutions in terms of bio-based materials, and a detailed modeling of the architectural requirements of the ZAC, this study compared the performance and costs of a large number of variants to define the technical and economic conditions of different scenarios.

The meeting will be an opportunity to present this low-carbon approach and to discuss more broadly the project methodology and the expectations of the project owners in terms of quality of use, project economics, and constructive and participatory methods."
