"In a reflection on the constitution of the verticality of a volume in relation to the differentiated uses of the two programmes (student housing and family housing), we opt for the principle of superposition rather than juxtaposition." - Ignacio PREGO - Rémi SOULEAU, architects and engineer partners
"Built overlooking the inner ring road, along Boulevard Ney and facing the viaduct of the Boulevard périphérique, this 50-metre-high building is one of the key figures that the new Chapelle International district developed by Espaces Ferroviaires is installing in the metropolitan landscape. The functional organisation of this mixed-use project, which includes a student residence and social housing, is based on the complex superposition of programmes rather than simple juxtaposition. From this architectural and constructive strategy emerges a composition that is both unitary and differentiated, where the horizontal writing of the free geometries of extending balconies establishes the panoramic and striking perception of a real urban landscape in permanent transformation".
