" Valerio Olgiati studies the architecture to the federal Ecole polytechnique of Zurich. Having lived and worked a few years in Swiss and in Los Angeles, he opens in 1996 his( own workshop in Zurich, then in 2008 settles down with his wife Tamara Olgiati to Flims. Valerio Olgiati invents his own values as architect. So, he thinks that if the architect owes in our time know the needs for the company, he does not have to act in sociologist; if he has to make a commitment in favour of the environment, he does not have to act as an ecologist; if he accepts his mission of project management, he cannot offer the architecture as a service. Valerio Olgiati understands his architect's role as the one who thinks and creates the space. His architecture is cultural and not political. In his agency as in his teachings, Valerio Olgiati operates in a independent way. He advocates fundamentally non-contextual and not repository architecture. He assigns no value in the use of preliminary studies or existing typologies, but values the experience in the process of realization ".
