Following the success of the first edition, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, in partnership with the French Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (FFME), will reinstall the Vertical Pavillion for the 2018 Olympic Day. This spectacular 13 meter high climbing wall invites professional, amateur and beginner sportspeople to learn about climbing or to haul themselves up all the way to the glass roof of the exhibition space.

The Vertical Pavillion will open on June 22nd 2018 to celebrate the Olympic Day, and will be accessible all summer for everyone, from 5 to 77 years old, freely and without registration, from 5 to 7pm from Tuesday to Friday, and from 2 to 6pm on the weekends. A professional instructor will supervise the access and allow everyone to discover or to improve at climbing, which will become an Oympic sport from Tokyo 2020 onwards.

Conceived by the architects Clément Carrière and Alma Gazeau, the Vertical Pavillion comes back with a new version that proposes new climbing routes adapted to every skill, this year with a new, particulary difficult route, a true challenge for every climber!

The Vertical Pavillion is open until September 2nd and associates city discovery and urban sports experience. with an educative summer program dedicated to children from Parisian recreation centers, support by the Parisian Department of Education (DASCO). More than 1,500 children will climb and discover the futur projects of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with an educational tour of the Pavillon de l’Arsenal’s permanent exhibition.
