Works constructed 1948- 2009
A collection of architecture works
Paris Île-de-France

Under the direction of
. OLIVIER CINQUALBRE, Architecte, Conservateur, Centre Pompidou
. ALEXANDRE LABASSE, Architecte, Directeur du Pavillon de l’Arsenal

Prototypes by Jean Prouvé, drawings by Émile Aillaud, studies by Jean Nouvel, models by Frank O. Gehry, sketches by Manuelle Gautrand are just a few of the 58 original works displayed under one roof to give insight into 58 structures built in Paris between 1948 and 2009.

Using examples such as the CNIT, Ivry city centre, Montparnasse tower, terminal 1 at Charles de Gaulle airport, Parc de la Villette, the French National Library and the Solferino bridge, this book uses artistic, political, economic, technical and architectural context of the city’s recent heritage in order to present the wealth of half a century in architectural thought, urban design controversy and debate.

Each one of the original works comes from the architecture collection at the Centre Pompidou and is associated with photos which provide an up to date and unique view of the structures in their current context.
