Considering Calais #3

PUBLIC WORKSHOP ON FEBRUARY 23RD FROM 6:30PM TO 8:30PM

Every other Tuesday, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, PEROU sets up its “Public workshop” at the Pavillon de l'Arsenal, in order to exchange new stories about Calais, this city in the making, and the world to come. Another one of its purposes is to be on the side of creation, and to share it, and thus to devise terms and acts of a renewed policy of hospitality.

"I am sure you will understand the extent of this letter’s severity, the one I send you  here today. Having been elected by the people, I could no longer turn a blind eye to the urgent needs and not share with you the harsh words that the so-called “migrant crisis” pushed me to finally write to you. The prefect of Pas-de-Calais made the announcement: machines are ready to destroy the “Jungle” of Calais. I tell you loud and clear: this is, for us all, a huge mistake.”
Opening of the letter that the mayor of Calais never wrote, dated Monday the 22nd of February 2016
